Clarence Public Library Calendar of Activities

Makerspace open house slated

A Makerspace open house will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11. Children will get a firsthand look into the fields of coding, animation, circuitry, robotics and augmented reality. No registration is required, and all ages are welcome.

Clarence Bookmarks plans discussion

The Clarence Library Bookmarks, a book discussion group, meets one Tuesday each month to discuss literature. The group will next meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12. Discussions will be centered on “The Goldfinch” by Donna Tartt. For more information, contact Beverly O’Connor at 689-2182.

Resident to describe Pacific Crest Trail trek

Clarence resident Alex Blemel will speak at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, at the library on his experience hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. The 19-year-old will describe the challenges he faced and the lessons learned traveling on foot 2,650 miles in five months through mountains, valleys and deserts with the ultimate goal of making it to Canada before the first snow. Registration for the program began Aug. 30.

Tuesday and Thursday; 10 a.m.-6
p.m. Wednesday; 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Friday and Saturday; closed Sunday
