Clerk believes ‘cowboy’ took money from tip jar

Saturday, June 2

Police responded to an address on Main Street to assist a turtle that was crossing the road. The turtle managed to cross without police intervention.

Deputies responded to a traffic accident on Transit Road. A 53-year-old woman from one of the involved vehicles was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant from the Town of Amherst. The woman was turned over to Amherst police.

Sunday, June 3

Police were called to a suspicious incident at the 7-Eleven on Main Street. The clerk called about a man who came into the store a few times and was looking at the electrical service for the building. He also asked if the clerk was able to open the register. The man was gone when police arrived.

Monday, June 4

A 25-year-old man was charged with aggravated harassment after he allegedly sent threatening text messages to a resident of East Overlook Drive. Deputies also charged him with possession of narcotics when they apprehended him at his apartment in Lancaster. The man was remanded to the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment.

An employee of Alethea’s Chocolates reported that a man wearing sunglasses, a cowboy hat and cowboy boots came in an ordered a milkshake. After the man left, the clerk noticed that money had disappeared from the tip jar and believed he took it.

Tuesday, June 5

A man reported that he had dropped his credit card in the parking lot at Dick’s Sporting Goods and that it had been used to make two unauthorized purchases. The incident is under investigation.

An employee of Party City reported that a woman had stolen several coloring books valued at approximately $15. A 34-year-old woman was charged with petit larceny. She was released on an appearance ticket.

Wednesday, June 6

A 16-year-old youth was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after he was reportedly found in possession of a small amount of concentrated marijuana oil at the high school.

Thursday, June 7

Police responded to a senior apartment complex on Ransom Road for a report of a missing elderly woman. The woman was located at a pond near the rear of the property. She said she had gone for a walk in the woods.

Friday, June 8

A 22-year-old man was charged with petit larceny after he allegedly stole property from Best Buy on Transit Road. He was remanded to the Holding Center pending arraignment.

An 18-year-old man faces charges of assault and criminal obstruction of breathing after he allegedly attacked another man who had dated his ex-girlfriend. The incident occurred on Barton Road in Clarence. The man was transported to the Holding Center.
