Resident reports man living in woods
Saturday, July 28
A resident of Kristina Circle reported that there was a loud party in the area. Patrol checked the area with negative results.
A resident of Sheridan Drive reported that there was a homeless man living in the woods behind her house. The man said he has been living in the woods but should be able to get an apartment soon because he had recently started a job.
Sunday, July 29
A landlord called about a duplex he owns on Shimerville Road. He was upset because he was in the process of evicting the tenant and a car was in the driveway, honking the horn. The person in the vehicle was there to pick up the person who lived at the apartment. The landlord was advised that until moving out, the tenant has the right to have visitors.
Monday, July 30
A caller reported that there were two dogs running loose in the parking lot of Paula’s Donuts. The caller was able to locate the owner, and he came to retrieve the animals.
The fire department responded to a senior apartment complex on Transit Road for a report of a resident who was stuck in the elevator.
A resident of Keller Road reported hearing gunshots in the area. There is no local law about discharging a firearm in Clarence. People have the right to target shoot or hunt on private property.
Tuesday, July 31
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office arrested a 52-year-old man on charges of grand larceny and falsifying business records. He allegedly stole approximately $4,000 from a business on Transit Road between January and April. The man was arrested after he reportedly failed to make good on a promise to his employer to pay back any money he had stolen.
Two 16-year-old girls were charged with petit larceny after being detained in the Eastern Hills Mall for allegedly leaving a store without paying for merchandise. The minors were released to an adult on an appearance ticket.
Wednesday, Aug. 1
A caller reported that a man and a woman were fighting in the parking lot of Dave and Adam’s Card World. Patrol checked the area. Both subjects were gone.
A man was walking around in the parking lot of Domino’s Pizza on Transit Road and begging for money. Patrol said if a property owner wants to ban a person from the property with a written notice and give authorities a copy of the notice, then the person can be charged with trespassing.
Thursday, Aug. 2
A man called from Northfield Road. He was upset because his two teenage daughters were fighting. He was advised on how to parent his children, and one of the children left for the night to stay at a grandparent’s house.
A resident of Karen Place reported that his daughter had come to his residence and that she was intoxicated and refusing to leave. Patrol gave the woman a ride home.
Friday, Aug. 3
A 26-year-old woman was charged with petit larceny after she allegedly left Spencer’s Gifts without paying for an item. She was remanded to the Erie County Holding Center on cash bail.
A caller reported that he had been driving on Delaware Road in Clarence and came upon a car and two motorcycles that were parked on the side of the road with their lights off. The people appeared to be trying to flag down cars as they passed. Patrol checked that area, and the vehicles were gone.
